Joan is a Senior Vice President and Corporate Services Consultant at ENCOR Advisors.

Joan joins ENCOR after more than 25 years with Golder Associates where she led internal Corporate Real Estate services first in Canada, then North America and finally at the global level. Joan has a demonstrated ability to develop strong internal client relationships and balance business unit and corporate requirements. She has knowledge and expertise in commercial lease negotiations and real estate transaction management from an internal corporate perspective. Her responsibilities at Golder included developing the first real estate roadmap, acting as an SME and primary point of contact for business leads and other corporate services.  She was responsible for managing all transaction activities, facility fit-outs, and sourcing of third-party vendors such as lease auditors, brokerages, etc. Joan also has experience in operations and office management, having previously managed a 50-employee administrative division with 11 technical areas across 6 locations within the GTA for Golder. Prior to that time, she was the office manager of the Golder Edmonton office. Joan is a trusted leader who honestly communicates with internal clients to identify real estate solutions and strategies which deliver long-term value.

In 2009, Joan was nominated and appointed a Company Partner at Golder Associates by peers and superiors. In 2017, with Golder Associates Joan received the Innovation Award, Risk Management, Small Department (Team Award) issued by Canadian Lawyer InHouse Magazine. In 2013, Golder Associates awarded her the Internal Excellence Award in Client Service and Technical Quality.

Outside of work, Joan enjoys theatre and has volunteered for the Edmonton Fringe Theatre Festival for over 30 years. Joan also enjoys learning about technology and how business may be advanced with technology which has led her to volunteer with both the Elevate and Collison festivals.
